The game follows through their journey of exploring the cavernous depths of Hyrule. A whole new world awaits the players beneath ‘Hyrule’, along with tons of other mysterious caverns and dungeons.
Just like its earlier counterpart titled “Breath Of The Wild”, this game also spans a massive open-world. In this timeline, the skies are filled with lots of floating islands and destinations as well.
This is like a throwback to the more flight focussed gameplay that was released eons earlier in “Zelda: Skyward Sword”. There are also a lot of cavernous depths that a player gets to explore in this version of the game.
Need I Play The “Breath Of The Wild” First?
Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is an amazing game, and to get to understand the events of the “Tears Of The Kingdom” better, it is recommended that you play the earlier game first. There’s also the fact that you do not need to play any of the earlier-released Zelda games to appreciate the newly released ones.
The gameplay and mechanics of the “Tears Of The Kingdom” are incredibly similar to that of the “Breath Of The Wild” version. Being familiar with the earlier version is only going to grant you the opportunity of getting to understand this new version of the game much better.

King Sidon is once again hanging out in Hyrule and waiting to assist Link on his adventures in this version of the Zelda game as well. He gets voiced by James D. Mortellaro, who had played this character in the Breath Of The World as well – at the same time serving as the voice director of the game.
He has also worked in similar roles in other game titles like “Octopath Traveller 2”, “Horizon: Forbidden West 2”, “And God Of War: Ragnarok”.

Link is considered to be the silent protagonist in the game Tears Of The Kingdom. He is voiced by Kengo Takanishi, who had also worked on the portrayal of Link in Super Smash Bros. You are also going to find his voice in Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Scarlet Nexus game titles.
Rauru
Rauru is a new character whom you are going to meet towards the beginning of the Tears Of The Kingdom game. They are going to prove to be a very helpful ally during the game’s opening hours – teaching your new abilities and guiding you to different shrines.
The voice cast for this character is Chris Hackney. He also voiced other characters in games like “Scarlet Nexus“, “Fire Emblem Three Hopes”, and “Fire Emblem Engage”.
Ganondorf
Ganondorf is back again with full power towards the beginning of the “Tears Of The Kingdom” game. The character of Ganondorf Tears Of The Kingdom is played by Matthew Mercer, who you might know about from Critical Role. He also voice acted in games – “Marvel’s Midnight Suns”, “Fire Emblem Engage”, and “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”.
Riju
Riju is considered to be the Chief of Gerudo and also helped Link in Breath Of The Wild with Divine Beast Vah Naboris. She is again voiced by Elizabeth Maxwell, who also voices “Honkai: Star Rail’s” Natasha. Additionally, she has also worked on game titles like “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands”, “Horizon: Forbidden West” and “Fire Emblem Engage”.
